Breve
BuyPlushmusic is proud to present Breve, featuring the legendary British jazz pianist John Taylor, Hayden Chisholm and Matt Penman. Their performance highlights Hayden Chisholm’s signature microtonal sound, and the hyper-accurate extemporisations of bassist Matt Penman. The strength and clarity of Taylor’s compositions give the session its fire.
Kodály: Cello Sonata
BuyPianists have Liszt's sonata; cellists have Kodály's. The phenomenally gifted Julian Steckel performs a modern classic. Original and shapely, it makes sensitive and inventive use of folk forms, while challenging a cellist's technique with extraordinary results.
Soweto String Ensemble
BuyThe Buskaid Soweto String Ensemble demonstrate their extraordinary talents in this fusion of music and dance, performing works by Mozart, Grieg, Rameau and Bartok to a standing ovation. The concert took place in 2007 at Paris' Cite de la Musique and was met by a standing ovation. Young musicians from Soweto are supported by Buskaid to combat hardship and develop their musical skills to the highest levels.
