Joaquin Rodrigo: Tres piezas espaňolas
Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999) lived his life near blindness, composing in Braille. His music is a homage to the rich and varied cultures of Spain. Drawing on many aspects of his country’s spirit as sources of inspiration, from the history of Roman Spain to the work of contemporary poets, Rodrigo delighted in distorting them through his distinctive brand of Modernism. Guitar virtuoso Goran Krivokapić masters these characteristics in the "Tres Piezas Españolas" – a trio by turns playful, melancholic and discordant.
